Coffee Shop Thoughts

I'm sitting here at a coffee shop inside a bookstore, waiting for Ava to finish causing chaos around the store. She's with her Dad right now. Sitting here by myself brings back so many memories.

Years ago, this was my life. Just sitting in coffee shops studying for tests, typing up tons of research for my school reports. The table would be littered with papers, books, pens and different laptops. That was my life then. I could just stay for hours without talking to anyone.

Now, the table is littered with children's books and milk bottles. I can hear Ava calling "MAMA" at the top of her lungs and the clumpty clump clump of her steps. I could barely finish my coffee and SOMEONE stole my cake.

This is my life now. If I think about it, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

  1. I know what you mean. Coffee shops can reveal a lot to us about ourselves, most especially our life stages. I remember when being in coffee shops meant finishing lesson plans or reviewing materials for my students' exams. Now, I'm often at coffee shops with my son, armed with his arsenal of drawing materials and a craving for Oreo cheesecake. <3

    1. Thanks for commenting Martine! It's great to just stop, look around and see where we are at in life every once in while. :)
